Boy or girl puppy golden retriver puppy to go w/ 5yr old male maltese?

Girl definitly I have a cat and a golden retriver puppy and they get along fine. Just make sure you keep the golden away from the maltese for a couple days put them in seperate for about three days and slowly introduce the maltese even though the maltese is smaller and not scary both need time to get use to each other.
